FEAR is NOT fun; no matter how you “FACTOR” it!

“For God has not given us the spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.” 2 Tim. 1:7

Today’s Christian Daily Devotional

This verse carried me through my darkest days.  About three years ago, I almost lost my life to a situation that was more than I could personally handle.  I was “in” over my head; I could not sleep or eat because of the anxiety and fear that was pumping through my veins.  When I gave my life to Christ, I had received the Spirit of God—the actual Holy Spirit–was living inside of me.  Although my life situation had not changed, something inside of me was different.  Because of this verse, I realized that I had the power to accept God’s love and the gift of a peaceful sound mind if I give up my fear.  It was not easy, as I am a naturally nervous and anxious person.  But, you know what?  I was not happy being my “naturally nervous and anxious self”!  I wanted something better, I knew there HAD to be more, and 2 Tim 1:7 confirmed this to me.  Do you want something better?  If you have accepted Christ into your heart, but are still holding onto your fear; let it go.  God will give you peace and a sound mind, but you must let that fear go to get it!

“Dear Heavenly Father,

Thank you for supplying all my needs, even before I even know what I need!  This world today almost fuels itself on anxiety, fear and depression.  Most people I know have it, but many do not know how to get rid of it!  Lord, I am praying for myself (and every person who needs the power of God in their lives) to seek you with all of our hearts. I give my fear, anxiety and need to control to you.  Lord, you know what is best for me, even when I don’t.  I trust you.  Help me to trust you with all my heart, give me a supernatural understanding of your love for me so I can really have the confidence I need to let you take complete control of my life.  In Jesus’ precious name, give me the power of God and help me to use it wisely for your will, Amen.”
